Medicalisation of Incest and Abuse

Original ethnographical research and first-hand accounts from hospitalised indigenous and peasant women who have experienced intrafamilial sexual violence come together to analyse Andean understandings of medical positivist practices and the psychiatric ‘treatment’ of incest and gender-based violence.
