Buddhism and Law

As the first comprehensive study of Buddhism and law in Asia, this volume challenges the concept of Buddhism as an apolitical religion without implications for law. It reveals that in some cases, Buddhism provided a legal ideology, whilst in others it added a layer of complexity to pre-existing legal systems.
