The Real Jesus

Discover "Real Jesus," a groundbreaking book by esteemed scholar Luke Timothy Johnson, published in 1997, that delves into the compelling debates surrounding the historical Jesus. Challenging the controversial conclusions of the Jesus Seminar—where only 18 percent of Jesus' words in the Gospels are deemed authentic—Johnson presents a fresh perspective that emphasizes experiencing the "real Jesus" through faith rather than speculative historical analysis.

In this 192-page exploration, Johnson harnesses the finest biblical and historical scholarship to engage readers in what has been termed the "Jesus Wars." His insights invite both scholars and lay readers to reconsider their understanding of Jesus Christ and the theological implications of his teachings. Whether you're a seeker of historical accuracy or a believer in faith, "Real Jesus" offers a unique lens through which to approach one of history's most influential figures.
